Our process of making a Legacy Film

This is our process
for a Legacy Film

Step 1

We do a pre-interview. Preferably where the filming is going to take place. This is a chance for us to learn about which topics you want to talk about and get a sense of the overall storytelling.

Step 2

We discuss the photographs (and possible personal home video footage) you want included in the film.

Step 3

Day of filming! Once the equipment is set up, we start the interview. Think of this as a conversation with a friend in a relaxed environment.

Step 4

Now it's time to edit and create the film. We add music, graphics, and your photos. When we are done editing, we send you a link to the first edit. After you've watched it, you give us your views and comments.

Step 5

We deliver the film as an URL-link as well as on a USB flash drive.

Reflect on what parts/areas of your life you want to talk about. Make a simple timeline where you can place the actual stories you want to tell. Maybe do some research regarding facts about your parents and grandparents, if you intend to include them in your storytelling. Also, start selecting photographs (and possible footage from home videos) of people and places connected to your story. As we get started, you'll receive a more extensive guide to help you prepare. During the pre-interview we'll go through your thoughts and material.
Yes, of course. This will require a different set-up with more lighting and additional cameras. When you prepare for the session, it's a good idea to decide who will tell what story about your common journey.
Yes, we can come to you regardless of where you live. Of course, with travel comes some additional costs, which will be agreed upon before filming begins.
After the filming is completed, the editing phase starts. This part is the most time-consuming one. Each project is unique, but generally it takes about 6-10 weeks to complete the film. An express option can be available if the completion is time sensitive.

We deliver the film on a USB Flash Drive. From there, you can upload the film to your personal cloud service account, for instance Google Drive, Dropbox or Icloud. We can help you set it up. However, if your prefer, we can absolutely manage and provide online access for a yearly service fee.
